Irina Izotova
I’m almost a mermaid by origin (for I was born and grew up near the Black Sea), an agronomist by education, a chief accountant by profession and an artist by avocation, and that is why I am now a felt designer.
Why felt of all things? Felt is a world in itself. Wool can be used to make practically anything, from a one-inch kitten to clothes, carpets and even dwellings (e.g. the nomads’ well-known yurts).
Moreover, I’m fond of sharing the joy of creating things. My own life changed radically at some point, following a master class given by an enthusiastic professional. My work process is akin to magic, where my hands mould a soft and downy cloud into a pair of comfy slippers or a lovely polar bear cub.
