Bookmark bound into a 17th-century Gospel
The marker has the shape of a zapona plaque with cords.
It is adorned with traditional gold-threat embroidery over satin-stitched ground and with sewn-on pearls, scattered sequins and shaggy cord.
The tassels are made by means of intricate ornamental weaving and incorporate strung sequins.

The zapona plaque is decorated with gold and silver thread embroidery and cannetille work, sewn-on pearls, gems and glass beads; it is edged with gold-thread cord. The silk ribbon dates from a later period.
